Central Christian College’s women’s soccer team ended its regular season with a 1-0 loss to powerhouse NCAA Division II school Oklahoma Baptist here Thursday.

The Bison have dual membership in the NCCAA, as they are ranked No. 2 in the country in that division.

CCC closed 11-5-1 and has a week off before competing in the AII Tournament next Friday in Denver. It takes on Johnson and Wales, a team it lost to 4-3 in double overtime last week.

“Oklahoma Baptist is a very good team and I'm happy the way we defended against them,” CCC coach Scott Fogarty said. "They were a strong test, which is what I wanted going into the playoffs. There was a bit of fortune to their goal and we were very unlucky not to have been awarded a penalty kick earlier in the game, so I told our team to keep their heads high. We were hoping for a bit more going forward in attack, but we did create the two or three chances we wanted, giving us a chance to win."

Goldie Bougher did a nice job between the pipes for CCC by coming up with 9 saves.
