Mac women routed by Haskell

This is a game film that McPherson College women’s basketball coach Gordon Reimer will throw directly into the trash.

Coming off their rousing upset of Randall University on Monday, the Bulldogs returned home on Friday to take on Haskell, which has periodically been nationally ranked the past few years.

It certainly played like a ranked team in this one by humbling the Bulldogs, 80-45.

Mac was a miserable 3 of 20 in the first half to trail 39-17 and it didn’t get much better the rest of the way.

Mac, now 1-1, had all 11 players in the scoring column, but the high was Victoria Gonzalez with just 7 points. Cerissa Honena-Reyes led Haskell with 20.

Mac will play Bacone at 4 p.m. Saturday to finish up McPherson Classic play.

Mac (45) — Holt 3, Zimmerman 5, Battle 1, Coe 6, Richardson 4, Kuhn 3, Bacon 5, Racette 3, Kelly 2, Allen 6, Gonzalez 7.

Haskell (80) — Meat 4, Honena-Reyes 20, Sumpter 16, Sloan 8, Moss 2, Gibson 6, Moss 4, Murphy 8, Davis 7, Levier 2, Coriz 3.
