Central Christian College’s women’s basketball team dropped to 1-2 on the season here Saturday with a 72-39 loss to KCAC member Sterling.

The Warriors limited CCC to just 29-percent shooting from the field and also dominated the glass by a whopping 46-25 margin.

Abbie Banks was a bright spot for Central as she scored more than half of the Tigers’ points with 21.

"Tough loss today to a very good Sterling team," CCC coach Chris Honeck said. "We struggled to get anything going against them offensively and although we played pretty well defensively for most of the game, we couldn't keep them off the offensive glass. We did get a good performance from Abbie offensively, but Sterling did a very good job of shutting everybody else down."

The Tigers play Monday at Mid-America Christian in Oklahoma City.

CCC (39) — Kalthoff 5, Grimaldo 4, Banks 21, Hearne 2, Rhoton 4, Glessner 3.

Sterling (72) — Harris 16, Ricke 4, Greer 9, Davis 11, Princ 13, Swiftwater 8, Sokoloski 4, Oppreicht 2, Mosley 2, Stallbaumer 3.
