SALINA — McPherson College pushed KCAC volleyball power Kansas Wesleyan to four sets as it lost its regular-season finale on Saturday.
The Bulldogs, down 2-0 in sets, forced a fourth set after a 25-22 win in the third. Wesleyan, however, rebounded with a 25-20 victory to win the match.
It was another great day for Mac’s Lexi Kite, who had a team-high 13 kills and 14 digs. Jocelyn Cochran added 12 kills and completed her double-double with 15 digs. Morgan Little came up with 32 assists and Emily Warner led in digs with 28.
Mac was trying to set a school record for victories in a season as it’s now 20-11. Two other times the Bulldogs have won 20 matches.
The Bulldogs finished the KCAC at 13-9 after going 2-18 last year. They are the No. 5 seed in the KCAC postseason tournament and go on the road Tuesday to take on No. 4 seed Oklahoma Wesleyan in Bartlesville. The Eagles won both matches between the teams this season.
