McPherson College’s men’s basketball team, coming off its emotional 80-65 victory over crosstown rival Central Christian College on Wednesday, is in Colorado today for a special game.
The Bulldogs, 4-0 on the season, take on the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs. Game time is 6 p.m.
This is considered an exhibition game and does not count toward the Bulldogs’ record.
“This is an amazing opportunity that we get to play an NCAA Division I school,” McPherson coach Tim Swartzendruber said. “It’s not easy for us as a small college to get that opportunity. We had one of our alums, Ted Bray, who was instrumental in setting that up for us. It’s going to be a lot of fun for us and none of our guys have ever had that kind of experience. Just to be able to say you stepped on the floor with a team from the Mountain West Conference, what a thrill that will be for us.”
The Bulldogs then return home on Thursday to take on Bethany College in the KCAC opener for both schools.
