It was a basketball game that Central Christian College’s men had to have, even though it’s still early in the season.

The Tigers, who had been off to a 1-3 start for the first time in coach Tony Romero’s career, finally put it all together here Friday in the Classic for Christ opener with a 94-78 victory over Grace University at Alexander Arena.

Sam Clayborn scored 25 points to lead a trio of 20-point Tiger scorers. Jubril Osagie tallied 22 and Michael Gholston added 20.

The Tigers were 21 of 25 at the line and won the rebounding battle, 33-30.

CCC will play Oklahoma Wesleyan at 6 p.m. Saturday to wrap up the classic.
