Central Christian College’s men’s basketball team will take a big step up in competition tonight when it plays its first exhibition game of the season.

The Tigers travel to Hays for a 7 p.m. matchup with NCAA Division II school Fort Hays State. This game does not count on CCC’s record.

Central has started the year 4-3, having won its last three games. Fort Hays State is 1-1 as it is coming off a two-game road trip to South Dakota. The Tigers lost to Southwest Minnesota State 84-60, but came back to beat the University of Sioux Falls, 80-78.

McPherson High graduate Kyler Kinnamon is the starting point guard for Fort Hays. He has been bothered by a hip flexor, but scored 6 points, had 3 assists and 3 steals in 26 minutes in the Tigers’ win. MHS graduate Payton Stephens also is on the roster.

After tonight, Central has a bit of a rest as it’s off until Tuesday when it hosts Barclay College.
