HAYS — Central Christian College’s men got a chance to see how the other side lives.
The NAIA Tigers stepped up in classification for an exhibition basketball game on Wednesday and dropped a 92-58 verdict to NCAA Division II Fort Hays State in what is classified as an exhibition game for Central and doesn’t count toward its record.
A couple of former Bullpups had a hand in Fort Hays’ winning effort. Kyler Kinnamon had 9 points and 8 assists in 25 minutes of play and added a couple of steals to boot. Another former Bullpup, Payton Stephens, had 6 points in 8 minutes.
Central had no answer for Fort Hays All-American candidate Rob Davis, who poured in 35 points to lead the way.
Fort Hays dominated the game from the start, racing to a 41-24 halftime lead.
Sean Guillory came off the bench to lead CCC with 12 points. Jubril Osagie added 11 and Michael Gholston tallied 10.
Central has some time off as its next action is Tuesday when it hosts Barclay College at Alexander Arena. Tip time is 7:30 p.m.
