The McPherson Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) is offering family events to help promote the holiday season. Activities begin on Saturday, November 26, with a free movie at the McPherson Opera House. “Finding Dory” begins at 3 p.m. One week later on December 3 the CVB will provide free gingerbread house kits to the first 100 families at the McPherson Museum holiday open house. Santa will be present with his “reindeer” Lil’ Ben and Lil’ Red from Sundance Farm from 1-3 p.m.
On December 1 at 6 p.m. and December 10 at 10 a.m. jump aboard the McPherson trolley wearing pajamas and enjoy a holiday story provided by the McPherson Public Library. Cost is $3 per person. The McPherson trolley will also offer holiday light tours on December 8, 15, 17, 18, 19 & 22. Cost is $5 per person. The annual attraction includes a ride through festive neighborhoods, Christmas music, holiday trivia and prizes. There’s no better way to embrace the holiday spirit and gain a new appreciation for the City of McPherson. Advanced tickets are required for all trolley events and can be purchased at the CVB office, 1111 E. Kansas.
CVB is also supporting downtown merchants with the “Grin with the Grinch” contest. Customers must find the Grinch in a store offering Candy Cane Cash, snap a “selfie” with the Grinch and then tweet or tag the CVB Facebook page with the photo resulting in a $25 Candy Cane Cash prize.
