The busy KCAC schedule will continue for McPherson College’s basketball teams on Tuesday as the Bulldogs return to the Sport Center to take on Oklahoma Wesleyan.
The action starts with the women’s game at 6 p.m., with the men to follow. Join Voice of the Bulldogs Matt Cole for the call at 5:50 p.m.
The Mac women will be looking to rebound from an ego-sapping 64-33 loss to Kansas Wesleyan on Saturday, which snapped their four-game winning streak. The Bulldogs, after putting up 71 points on Bethany just 48 hours earlier, did not score a point in the first quarter and had just 6 for the entire first half, making just 1 of 19 shots.
Mac is 1-1 in the KCAC and 5-2 overall. Oklahoma Wesleyan is 1-1 in the KCAC, having lost to Friends on opening night before coming back to defeat Saint Mary on Saturday. The Eagles are 5-3 overall and no doubt remember that Mac won both regular-season meetings last year.
In the men’s game, the Bulldogs will be trying to shake off a couple of gut-wrenching losses from last week. They were edged 83-80 by Bethany and 83-81 by Kansas Wesleyan, a game they led by 7 points with 6 minutes to go.
Mac had entered the week 4-0 overall, but played both games without injured starting center Reed Rowell, who could be back on Tuesday.
Oklahoma Wesleyan is off to a terrific start with wins over Friends and Saint Mary, two of the expected top teams in the KCAC. The Eagles are 4-4 overall, one of the losses a 21-point setback at Central Christian College.
Over the holidays, the Mac women will have the weekend off, while the men head to Nebraska for the Hastings College Classic in Nebraska.
