It was a record-breaking night for Central Christian College’s Piper Kalthoff here Tuesday.

Kalthoff poured in a school-record 43 points to lead the Tigers to a 101-35 blitz of Barclay College as they won for the third straight game to improve to 4-5.

Kalthoff made 18 of 30 shots, including 6 of 15 from 3-point. Ironically, she shot only two free throws and made one.

The Tigers overwhelmed the Bears from the start. With only seven players, though, Kalthoff had to play 37 minutes and she was unstoppable from start to finish.

Abbie Banks and Kelsey Grimaldo both had double-doubles. Banks scored 17 points and dealt 12 assists, while Grimaldo also scored 17 and passed for 10 assists. Rebecca Glessner chipped in with 15 points.

The Tigers play an exhibition game Saturday at Rockhurst.

Central (101) — Floyd 2, Glessner 15, Kalthoff 43, Grimaldo 17, Banks 17, Rhoton 4, Hearne 3.

Barclay (35) — Pfaff 6, Thornburg 6, Brown 19, Easterwood 4.

• CENTRAL MEN 91, BARCLAY 53 — After their early stumbles with a 1-3 start, Central Christian College’s men are playing the way that was expected.

With a 91-53 rout of Barclay, the Tigers pushed their winning streak to four as they are now 5-3 on the season.

The Bears were pesky as they hung tough for about 14 minutes, but the Tigers unfurled a 22-0 run to close out the half for a 46-24 lead.

The margin reached as many as 39 in the second half as Central simply was too talented and athletic.

Michael Gholston fired in 20 points to lead CCC, while Sam Clayborn and Daniel Nwosuh chipped in with 15 apiece. Ernest Burton also was in double figures with 10.

Central shot it well from the field, making 34 of 69 and drained 13 3-pointers. It held the Bears to 27 percent for the game.

The Tigers have a major hurdle to clear on Saturday as red-hot Bethany College invades Alexander Arena for a 5 p.m. clash.

CCC (91) — Gholston 20, Clayborn 15, Nwosuh 15, Burton 10, Osagie 8, Kuminga 8, Guillory 6, Warren 4, Lenard 3, Jordan 2.

Barclay (53) — Milton 7, Bradley 4, Hibler 3, Huck 6, Walker 7, J. Maloney 4, Franklin 6, Hays 1, K. Maloney 3, Leach 7, Smith 5.
