HASTINGS, Neb. — McPherson College’s men rained 3-pointers from everywhere on Friday to hand tournament host Hastings College an 81-75 setback.
The win was the second straight for Mac, which improved to 6-2 on the season.
The Bulldogs bucketed 12 3-pointers for the win.
They led 36-30 at the half as they overcame a 10-0 Hastings run. Mac went up as many as 11 points in the second half.
“This is a great win for our team,” Mac coach Tim Swartzendruber said. "We have participated in this tournament four times since I became the head coach and this is the first time we have beaten Hastings on their own floor. I can't say enough about our effort and toughness. We made free throws down the stretch and it was just a great effort.”
Steady DeAndre Henson continued his solid play with a team-high 20 points, which included four 3-pointers. Chris Crook added 17 and Careino Gurley chipped in with 10. Thomas Butler had another nice all-around game with 6 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists.
The Bulldogs have another tough game today, taking on Doane University at 2 p.m.
