GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. — Western State Colorado University bookended a 20-point first quarter with a 20-point fourth quarter to deal Bethany College’s women a 68-55 basketball setback Saturday afternoon.

Bethany struggled from the field by going 14 of 42 and made just 3 of 11 3-pointers. The Swedes did shoot well from the line, making 24 of 29.

Tehya Peters led the Swedes with 11 points. Ashton Burdick added 10 as did Samm Ashida.

The Swedes are still looking for their first win of the Keith Ferguson era. They return to action Thursday when they travel to York to resume KCAC play.
