Tiger women lose to D-I UMKC

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — As expected, Central Christian College’s women struggled on Tuesday against NCAA Division I school UMKC, losing 111-43 in what was an exhibition basketball game for the Tigers.

The ‘Roos got off to a great start with a 34-5 lead after a quarter as the Tigers were jittery with the basketball, finishing the game with 27 turnovers.

Piper Kalthoff, who had been named the AII Player of the Week earlier in the day, led Central with 19 points.

The Tigers play their third straight exhibition game on Thursday when they go to Wichita to take on Newman University.
