It’s back to work for McPherson College’s basketball teams tonight they travel to North Newton to resume KCAC play against Bethel College.

Catch the action on 96.7 KBBE-FM beginning at 5:50 with Voice of the Bulldogs, Matt Cole. The women’s game has a 6:00 tip, with the men tangling approximately 8:00.

The Mac women are 2-1 in the KCAC, a game back of co-leaders Tabor and Friends. The Bulldogs are 6-2 overall and will have had nine days off as they haven’t played since their mild upset of Oklahoma Wesleyan early last week.

The Threshers are winless in three KCAC games, but they’ve come against upper-division teams Tabor, Friends and Saint Mary. Overall their only victory came against Central Christian College in their opener. Offense has been the culprit as the Threshers average just 51 points a game, though they allow only 65.

The Mac men are 1-2 in the KCAC, the two losses by a combined five points. But they are 6-3 overall and scored an impressive victory over Hastings on the Broncos’ home court last week.

Bethel blazed away to a 6-0 non-conference start, but has gone 0-3 since hitting the KCAC portion of the schedule. It has lost to Tabor, Friends and Saint Mary, three of the best teams in the conference. Deven Goodwin is Bethel’s top player, though he missed its last game. Goodwin is one of the premier guards in the KCAC as he can both handle the ball well and scores 21 points a game — including 30 against Friends.
