When you have the Class 4A Division II state champion Pratt, Class 3A state runner-up Hesston and season-long powerhouses Smoky Valley, Halstead, Nickerson and Hoisington to choose from, you’ve got to be pretty darn good to make the All-Central Kansas League football team.
Hesston had two players make the first team, quarterback Zach Esau and receiver Zach Vogt. Smoky Valley’s Beck Elliott made the first team as a defensive lineman.
Smoky Valley second-team picks included running back Kyle Anderson, offensive lineman Jacob Adams, offensive lineman Elliott, defensive lineman Skyler DeMott and linebacker Riley Odell.
For Hesston, Jake Wingfield was second-team for the offensive line and defensive line, while Esau and Vogt were picked second-team defensive backs.
Smoky Valley had a pair of honorable mention selections, Allan Wampler in the offensive line and Garrett Forsberg in the defensive line. Hesston’s Zach Anderson was honorable mention at linebacker.
