Bulldog cagers entertain Sterling Saturday

Sterling College’s basketball teams will come into the McPherson College Sport Center on Saturday after a pair of impressive wins on Thursday.

The Sterling men outscored Saint Mary 107-104 to hand the Spires only their second loss of the season. It was the Warriors’ first KCAC win after three losses and only their second win of the year.

The Sterling women were a 70-60 winner over Saint Mary as All-KCAC preseason pick Hailey Davis scored 26 points and Jordin Greer added 23. Sterling is 2-2 in the KCAC and 6-2 overall.

Mac’s teams split on Thursday, the women slogging to a 45-43 overtime victory over Bethel, while the Bulldog men, down by a point with 10 minutes to go, wound up being outscored badly down the stretch in an 84-64 loss.

The Mac women are 3-1 in the KCAC, 7-2 overall. The Bulldog men are 1-3 in the KCAC, 6-4 overall.
