Central teams breeze to victories

For Central Christian College’s Haylee Floyd, it was a double victory day.

Not only did Floyd help the Tiger women to a 74-44 rout of Ozark Christian College on Saturday, but right after the game she was proposed to by her boyfriend.

The seven-woman team reached the .500 mark for the season with the easy victory as Piper Kalthoff and Abbie Banks scored 24 and 21 points, respectively, while Kelsey Grimaldo scored 17 and Alyssa Rhoton furnished 10.

Kalthoff and Banks both had 10 rebounds apiece to complete a double-double.

CCC, now 5-5 in games that count toward the record, continues its busy schedule Monday hosting Mid-America Christian University, with game time 5 p.m. at Alexander Arena. Counting exhibition games, CCC will be playing its 15th game of the season.

• CENTRAL MEN 107, OZARK CHRISTIAN 56 — Daniel Nwosuh became the Tigers’ all-time career assist leader as the Tigers won their sixth game in a row to move to 7-3.

Nwosuh now has 342 assists in his career.

Micahel Gholston (25), Ernest Burton (25), Jabril Osagie (13), Steve Kuminga (13) and Nwosuh (12) all reached double figures.

Central made an amazing 13 3-pointers in the first half to lead 59-22. For the game it was 18 of 41.

Central is home on Thursday to take on Manhattan Christian. Game time is 7:30 p.m.
