Legal Marijuana in Colorado Increasing Illegal Marijuana in Kansas

McPherson Police and County sheriff’s deputies last night arrested Robert Martin of Colorado for driving with a revoked license. His passenger Alexander McCall of Missouri was arrested for possession of a stimulant, criminal use of a firearm, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Martin was booked into the McPherson county jail on a $250 bond. McCall’s was set at $4,750.

The Colorado driver was arrested after being stopped by law enforcement while heading northbound on interstate 135, a few miles south of McPherson.

According to the Kansas attorney general, over the last few months, marijuana from Colorado has been permeating every part of Kansas. He also said that Colorado’s decision to legalize marijuana has led to high grade-marijuana from Colorado largely replacing lower-grade marijuana from Mexico, and home-grown marijuana in Kansas.

In other words, not all marijuana is created equal. And law enforcement officials in Kansas are seeing more potent marijuana in the arrests they are making in this state where it is still illegal.
