McPherson – The City will host a public meeting on Thursday, December 8, 6:30 p.m., at the City Offices, 400 E. Kansas, to allow for public input regarding the Avenue A & Centennial Drive sidewalk project. The 10-foot sidewalk extension will run from Thunderbird Street east along Avenue A, then south to the dog park and then north along Centennial Drive to South Front Street. The project is one of 25 selected in the state to receive funding from the Transportation Alternative program with the Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT). The City of McPherson must commit to a minimum 20 percent match. The sidewalk extension will provide safer pedestrian and bicycle travel in the southeast part of the City. For more information, contact Director of Public Works Jeff Woodward at 620.245.2545.
