Kansas Wesleyan has grabbed the lead in the 2016-17 KCAC Commissioner’s Cup race after the fall portion of the sports schedule.
Points are given for standings in men’s and women’s cross country, football, men’s and women’s soccer and volleyball.
There will be updated standings following the winter sports season and then the Cup will be awarded after the spring season.
The Coyotes have a healthy lead at this point with 61 1/2 points, well ahead of second-place Ottawa, which has 48 1/2. KW had Top 3 finishes in every single sport.
Others in the upper half are Saint Mary (47 1/2), Friends (45), Tabor (44) and McPherson College (40 1/2).
The Bulldogs’ only real downfall was in football as they took last, but were strong in most of the other sports. The leaders were men’s cross country (3rd) and men’s soccer (3rd).
The bottom division included Sterling (36 1/2), Oklahoma Wesleyan (33), Bethany (31) 1/2), Southwestern (29), York (17) and Bethel (11).
