Mac's Torres receives national honor

McPherson College soccer player Nick Torres recently completed a tremendous career for the Bulldogs and now has been honored nationally.

Torres has been named to the NAIA All-Plains Regional honorable mention team by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.

The McPherson High graduate led the Bulldogs in goals with 14 and assists with 11. He also scored six game-winning goals.

His 11 assists broke the school record of 10 by John White, which had been established 10 years ago.

Torres, who was an All-KCAC selection, finished his career with 34 goals and 22 assists. He career total of 90 points is second in school history to Armando Rodriguez, who was a three-time All-American.
