ELYRIA — Elyria Christian Junior High School’s boys blanked Canton-Galva in the second quarter to spark the Eagles to a 27-14 victory on Thursday.

“We came out slow in the first quarter, but stepped up defensively in the second quarter,” ECJH coach Shawn Stucky said. “Before the game I told them we can't rely on any one player, that we would need everyone to step up. They did exactly that. I was proud of the way the guys played together as a team both offensively and defensively.”

Josef Hobson led Elyria with 9 points, one more than Seth Redenbaugh.

Canton-Galva charged to a 41-12 success in the B-game. Ben Unruh topped Elyria with 5 points.

C-G also won the C-game, 22-4. Keyan Wiggins and Alec Huddle made a basket apiece for Elyria.

Elyria B (12) — Allen 3, Unruh 5, Clark 2, Anderson 2.
