Elyria Christian Junior High School’s girls basketball teams played a tripleheader against Canton-Galva on Thursday.

Elyria’s A-girls lost 29-16 despite 11 points by Olivia Clark.

“Our girls played three good quarters of defense,” ECJH coach Roger O’Neal said. “We have been working on our defense and this was three quarters of our best effort so far this year. We simply need to finish out the game. We gave up some easy buckets in the fourth quarter that we simply couldn't overcome.”

The A-team is now 1-4.

The B-team was defeated 18-10 as the scoring was balanced. Elyria is 2-3.

The C-team is now 2-0 as Ryland Hawkinson’s 12 points led the Eagles to a 16-2 win.

Elyria A (16) — Clark 11, Aden 4, Peters 1.

Elyria B (10) — Stone 2, Swanson 2, Clark 4, Peters 2.

Elyria C (16) — Hawkinson 12, Stone 4.
