OKLAHOMA CITY — Central Christian College’s men outscored Oklahoma Christian University in the second half on Saturday, but the first-half deficit was too much to overcome.

Central, down 44-27 at the half in an exhibition game that doesn’t count toward its record, outscored the NCAA Division II school 30-27 after the half to lose only 81-67.

Michael Gholston continued his big-time season by scoring 25 points to lead the Tigers. Sam Clayborn furnished 13 and Ernest Burton came off the bench for 12.

John Moon had a monster game for Mid-America with 26 points and 15 rebounds as he’s one of the best players the Tigers have faced this year.

Central’s record remains 8-3.

The Tigers head to Las Vegas for a tournament Dec. 19-20. The first game is the 19th against University of Northeastern Ohio, while the second game is against Dakota Wesleyan. Both schools are regarded as top-flight opponents.
