Hesston wins its own wrestling tournament

HESSTON — The Hesston Swathers won their own wrestling invitational on Saturday, outlasting Marion in the 15-team field.

The Swathers scored 142 points, with Marion second with 126. Other teams in reasonable contention were Chaparral (125) and Remington (115). Smoky Valley had a partial team and scored 76.

Jason Hecht was the Swathers’ lone champion as he took first at 113, but they had several Final Four competitors.

Chaparral’s 195-pounder Jacob Jenkins was named the Most Outstanding Wrestler.
