A car accident Saturday on I-135 near Moundridge injured at least two people and caused a car and the grass median to catch fire.

Brooklyn Eaves of Wichita, age 21, struck a vehicle driven by Sierra Galleher of Moundridge, age 23, whose car had been traveling slowly because of mechanical difficulty. After Eaves’ Chevrolet struck the other vehicle, Galleher’s Mercury came to a stop in the median and caught fire.

Sierra and her passenger, Joe Galleher, age 24, were the only two involved in the accident who suffered injuries, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol. Their other four passengers, including at least three children, were not injured, nor were Eaves and her child passenger.

Everyone involved in the accident was wearing a seatbelt, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol.
