McPherson’s eighth-grade girls continue to roll along unabated.
The Bullpup A-team breezed to a 48-27 basketball victory over previously undefeated Derby North here Monday, as Grace Pyle scored 16 points, Kassidy Beam added 11 and Belle Alexander furnished 10.
“Both A-teams came into the game undefeated and they are in our division in the league, so it was a very important game,” MMS coach Jay Crawford said. “We got off to a great start in the first quarter, we outscored them 15-3. It was great to see the girls execute our defensive game plan. We are very unselfish on offense and I love to see that.”
The B-team crushed Derby North, 49-6. Kenzee Godwin’s 15 points were tops and Shelby Yowell added 10.
“This group continues to use their defense to get them out into the open court,” Crawford said. “We did miss several layups after great steals, but with more practice we will fix that. They continue to share the ball and our scoring shows that.”
