McPherson High’s teams dropped in this week’s Kansas Basketball Coaches Association state rankings.

The MHS girls, who knocked off No. 4 (Class 6A) Derby but lost to No. 1 (Class 4A Division I) Miege, fell a spot to No. 4 in 4A D-I.

Ahead of the Bullpups are Miege, Kansas City Piper and Labette County. Tonight’s opponent at the Roundhouse, Abilene, is ranked No. 7.

The MHS boys lost to both Derby and No. 1 Bishop Miege, but still are No. 8. Miege is followed by Hays, Ottawa, Basehor-Linwood, Abilene, Wamego and Eudora. Behind MHS are Kansas City Piper and Bonner Springs.

Hesston’s boys are still No. 1 in Class 3A and the Swather girls are No. 5, up two spots from last week.

Moundridge’s girls have climbed to No. 2 in Class 2A, a spot behind Central Plains.
