STERLING — The road has been kind to Bethany College’s men in KCAC basketball play.

The Swedes remained undefeated in KCAC road games on Tuesday by outlasting Sterling, 78-70.

Bethany is now 6-2 in the KCAC and 9-6 overall. The two KCAC losses came at home to second-division teams.

Khalid Washington led the Swedes with 20 points and Tyler Larkin chipped in with 15. Josiah Ray led Sterling with 23.

The Swede men have a nice rest as their next action is Jan. 2 when they host Central Christian College, which defeated the Swedes earlier in McPherson.

The Sterling women received a push from the Swedes before hanging on for a 70-63 triumph. The first quarter was the difference as Sterling came out hot by rolling to a 23-15 lead.

Teyha Peters led the Swedes with 12 points, one more than Kimi Lindshield. Hailey Davis poured in 24 to lead Sterling.

Bethany is now 1-7 in the KCAC and 2-10 overall. It hosts Grace on Thursday.
