The McPherson school board is moving forward to hopefully fill their vacancy by the end of January. They hope to conduct interviews the third week of that month and then make a decision on January 23rd.
Three people have applied to be appointed. The board has been operating with six members since the early resignation last June of former board member Rhonda Wince.
In related news, the McPherson school board has still not planned a specific timeline for the process of seeking a new school superintendent for USD 418, but that discussion will likely be a focus of executive and public sessions into early next year.
The position recently became available with the unexpected departure of former school superintendent Mark Crawford, whose resignation was effective November 17.
Gordon Mohn will continue to serve as interim superintendent for McPherson’s USD 418 school district until a permanent replacement is found.
