Cold Weather Advice for McPherson Residents

As temperatures continue to drop, the City of McPherson offers a reminder to residents to stay off lakes and ponds.

According to Wayne Burns, Director of Public Lands and Facilities, cold temperatures do not guarantee ice on these bodies of water are safe.

“The ice may look solid, but that does not necessarily mean it is safe to skate or walk on,” he said.

Burns stresses the importance of obeying all posted signs associated with City lakes and waterways.
