McPherson’s eighth-grade boys basketball A-team evened its record at 3-3 with a 46-34 victory over Hutchinson here Thursday.
Adam Elliott had his best game of the year with 13 points.
“The team finished games before the break extremely well,” MMS coach Tyler Brown said. “The defense has improved and it shows in the win column and shows also in the points we are giving up. Offensively we have been better as well, but feel we still have a ways to go. Still feel like we can move the ball movement by moving it more side-to-side and get the entire team involved before taking a shot. But the positive going into the break is we are seeing that improvement.”
The B-team is now 6-0 after a 38-26 victory. Elliott and Aaron Powell scored 12 points apiece. The Bullpups are now 6-0.
MMS’ next action is Jan. 5 when it hosts Salina Lakewood.
