Little did McPherson High senior Andric McGill know at the time, but the final goal he scored in his Bullpup career had incredible significance.
The Kansas State Hall of Fame announced on Monday that McGill’s 101 career goals broke the state record by one.
“It’s a really great accomplishment for him personally, but it’s also a great team accomplishment as we have had some great teams the past 4 years that have helped create lots of goal-scoring opportunities for him,” MHS coach Chris Adrian said. “Andric has been the most athletic player I have ever coached, but what really made him special was his ability and confidence to finish in front of the goal. He’s worked really hard to achieve this accomplishment and deserves it.”
