LAS VEGAS, Nev. — Central Christian College’s men are seeing only the best of competition in the Las Vegas Hoopla Classic.

The Tigers opened play on Tuesday with a 66-57 loss to No. 25-ranked University of Northwestern Ohio. They turn around today and play No. 12-ranked Dakota Wesleyan to complete their two-game stay.

“We played with great effort tonight against a really good team,” said CCC coach Tony Romero, whose team is 8-4 on the season. “We just couldn't get it going offensively from the perimeter. I felt like we had a lot of open looks, but just couldn't put the ball in the basket. We were pretty good defensively, but a few shots we were late on closeouts, they converted.  The game came down to them making some tough shots late in the shot clock. Nothing to hang our head about, we play another tough one tomorrow."

Jabril Osagie had a monster game for Central with 20 points, but no other Tiger hit for double figures.

Central’s game tonight has an 8 p.m. CST start.

Central (57) — Osagie 20, Gholston 9, Clayborn 7, Warren 6, Nwosuh 6, Burton 5, Kuminga 4.

Northwestern Ohio (66) — Bradley 5, Pierce 6, Bello 13, Jackson 20, Guilliam 3, Beatty 12, Smart 3, Page 2.
