The new year will kick off with a heavyweight event when Central Christian College’s men’s basketball team and county college Bethany square off Monday night at Hahn Gym in Lindsborg.
Tipoff is set for 8 p.m.
This completes the home-and-home series, as the Tigers won a thrilling 85-81 decision at Alexander Arena back in November.
Central is 8-5 on the year. Its most recent action was Dec. 20-21 in Las Vegas where it lost to a pair of nationally ranked teams even though it was competitive in both games.
Bethany, 9-6 overall but 6-2 in the KCAC, has been idle a week longer than Central, as its last game was the KCAC finale Dec. 13 with a win over Sterling.
This is a monster week for the Swedes as KCAC leader Tabor invades Hahn Gym on Thursday. A Bethany victory and it would catch the Bluejays in the standings. Bethany also has a tough game on Saturday at it travels to Wichita to play Friends in what is always an entertaining game.
This is Central’s only game of the week as it hosts Kansas Wesleyan on Tuesday, Jan. 10.
