There’s no place like home.
McPherson High’s boys bowling team returned to the friendly Starlite Lanes confines on Friday and the result was a dramatic improvement in scores.
The Bullpups manufactured a terrific 2,478 to easily win a triangular with Andale (2,200) and Cheney (1,658).
“We had a huge improvement over Wednesday,” MHS coach Herb Halinski said. “Our spare percentage was much better compared to the first meet. Being home certainly helps.”
Clayton Ouellette strung together three games of 200-plus as he led the way with a 652 series. Also eclipsing 600 was freshman Taylor Miller, who had a 617. “He’s been bowling since he could walk,” Halinski chuckled.
Kc Becker had a nice 555 series for the Bullpup JVs, including a 212 game.
MHS turns right around and goes to Wichita on Saturday for a “Baker” tournament.
