Jr. Eagle boys win 2 of 3

ELYRIA — It was a full day of basketball on Monday for Elyria Christian Junior High’s boys as they went 2-1 on the day.

The A-team doubled up Central Christian 34-17 as it jumped out to a 12-0 first-quarter lead.

“The guys were strong on defense tonight,” Junior Eagles coach Shawn Stucky said. “Central Christian was quick and aggressive, but we had a height advantage and were able to work our inside game. Everyone contributed for a great team effort.”

Josef Hobson led the way with 14 points.

Central Christian won the B-game, 23-21. A 7-2 third-quarter run turned the game in Central’s favor. Ben Unruh led Elyria with 7 points.

The C-game consisted of just two quarters with Elyria rolling to a 22-7 rout. Keyan Wiggers led the Junior Eagles with 8.
