It’s the first of two Wednesday night specials in the KCAC.
Because of it being high school tournament week, and many of them starting on Thursday, KCAC games this week as well as next week will be played on Wednesday instead of Thursday.
McPherson College will be home at the Sport Center to play Kansas Wesleyan, with game time 6 p.m. for the women and 8 p.m. for the men.
Catch all the action on 96.7 KBBE-FM with Voice of the Bulldogs Matt Cole, with pre-game at 5:55.
For the Mac women, they’re playing a Kansas Wesleyan team that embarrassed them in the first meeting at Salina, 64-33. The Bulldogs amazingly made just one field goal in the first half of the game.
Mac is 6-6 in the KCAC and 11-9 overall, while Wesleyan has dropped to 7-4 in the KCAC after being 7-1 and is 12-7 overall.
The Coyotes will be without star guard Jenna Farris, who recently suffered a broken hand and according to Mac coach Gordon Reimer, is expected to be out for the rest of the season.
While Wesleyan did not play Monday, the Bulldogs were a 60-44 winner over county rival Bethany, sweeping the season series.
In the men’s contest, it’s a desperately needed game for the Bulldogs as a win would tie them with Wesleyan in the KCAC standings as they’re the two bottom teams. Mac improved to 2-10 in the KCAC on Monday with a last-second win over Bethany on an Aaron Bachura layup and the Bulldogs are 8-12 overall.
Wesleyan is 3-8 in the KCAC and 7-11 overall under first-year coach Anthony Monson, formerly the lead assistant at Tabor. Wesleyan won the first meeting between the teams 83-81, with Mac missing two point-blank shots in the closing seconds that would have tied the game.
It’s a busy week for the Bulldogs, who also go on the road Saturday to play Oklahoma Wesleyan.
