McPherson College’s men’s basketball team hopes to continue its ascent in the KCAC standings on Saturday.

The Bulldogs caught Kansas Wesleyan in the standings on Thursday after defeating the Coyotes 81-64 and Saturday can catch Oklahoma Wesleyan if they can defeat the Eagles in Bartlesville in a 5 p.m. matchup.

Mac is 3-10 in the KCAC after two wins this week over Bethany and Kansas Wesleyan and is 9-12 overall.

Oklahoma Wesleyan has played one less game as it’s 4-8 in the KCAC and 7-12 overall. Mac won the first matchup between the teams at the Sport Center, 81-73.

In the 3 p.m. women’s game, the Bulldogs will try to get back to .500 in the KCAC as they’re 6-7, 11-10 overall. Oklahoma Wesleyan has perhaps been the KCAC’s biggest disappointment as it’s 5-7 in the KCAC and 9-11 overall after being picked to be among the elite in the preseason.

Mac won the first meeting, 65-60.

There will be no radio broadcast on 96.7 KBBE-FM due to coverage of the McPherson Invitational.
