With a head-to-head 5-4 victory over No. 1-ranked Zach Eck of Andale on Saturday in the Bob Kuhn Prairie Classic at Hays, McPherson High’s Austin Eldredge has supplanted Eck as the top-ranked wrestler in Class 4A at 138 pounds.

Eck is the defending state champion at 132, but he and Eldredge have swapped 5-4 verdicts in their last two meetings.

McPherson’s Rhett Edmonson is ranked No. 4 at 106 pounds. Despite an 11-2 dual record, the Bullpups can’t crack the Top 10, which is led by Abilene, followed by Pratt and Bonner Springs.

Three Smoky Valley Vikings are ranked — Austin Lustfield (4th at 138), Beck Elliott (3rd at 182) and Allan Wampler (6th at 195).
