WICHITA — McPherson High’s boys bowling team just missed out on making match play of the Wichita North Invitational on Saturday.

The Bullpups were 10th out of 29 teams.

“We missed 17 single pins during the individual part of the meet, which is where we failed to make the cut,” MHS coach Herb Halinski said. “Hopefully it will be a learning experience on how important spare shooting is.”

The girls took 16th as they were short-handed with only five bowlers competing.

“The girls worked hard,” Halinski said. “We only have two girls with a lot of experience so it really was a good day. The girls, like the boys, also missed a lot of spares.”

Individual scores are not available at posting time.

The Bullpups have a busy week as they head to Salina on Tuesday and are home Thursday against Mulvane.
