SEDGWICK — Canton-Galva’s magical run through the Sedgwick Invitational finally ended on Saturday with a 59-32 loss to Wichita Independent in the championship game.
The Eagles, who came in as the No. 5 seed, had upset No. 1 seed Fairfield to make the finals.
It was all Independent, which is now 10-3 on the year. It had been the No. 3 seed coming in. Scoring was not available.
Chaparral defeated Inman 35-30 in the third-place game. MaKayla Michael and Lauren Maurer scored 7 points apiece for the Teutons. The game was tied after three quarters before Chaparral outscored Inman 13-8 in the final period.
