NORTH NEWTON — Ridglea Hearne had her best game of the season for Central Christian College’s women on Monday, but it wasn’t enough to prevent the Tigers from losing a 79-54 decision to KCAC member Bethel.

Hearne led the Tigers with 16 points.

“Ridglea grew up a lot as a player tonight and played what I think was her best all-around game of the season,” CCC coach Chris Honeck said.

Kelsey Grimaldo added 13 points for the Tigers and Alexa Gonzales scored 12.

“Not a good effort tonight,” said Honeck, whose team is now 9-10 on the season. “We allowed Bethel to dictate just about everything. We weren't tough enough to run our offenses how we wanted and defensively we didn't do anything to make scoring difficult for them."

Central heads to Lawrence on Wednesday to play Haskell.

Central (54) — Hearne 16, Grimaldo 13, Gonzales 12, Banks 9, Floyd 2, Glessner 2.

Bethel (79) — Schrag 8, Schunn 18, Johnson 4, Gerlach 10, Schroeder 15, Pineda 1, Carter 4, McKinney 2, Schmieder 13, Sumpter 2, Kennedy 2.
