ECJH girls split with Little River

Elyria Christian Junior High’s A-girls lost a 31-20 decision to Little River on Monday.

Little River led only 19-18 after three quarters before pulling away.

Kylee Penner had a great game in defeat with 16 points.

“This game was really close through three quarters,” ECJH coach Roger O’Neal said. “We weren't able to press their girls, but our halfcourt defense was good.”

Elyria won the B-game, 25-14. Mina Aroum tallied 6 points to lead the Junior Eagles.

There was no C-game.

The A-team is 4-9, the B-team is 7-5-1 and the C-team is 6-1. The team plays Wakefield in postseason play on Thursday in Peabody.

ECJH A (20) — Archer 4, Penner 16.

ECJH B (25) — Swenson 3, Koehn 3, Aroum 6, Starburg 2, Turner 1, Hawkinson 4, Reimer 2, Robertson 2, Potter 2.
