McPherson College’s surging men’s basketball team will find out how it matches up against the KCAC’s best here Thursday.
The Bulldogs are back home to take on KCAC leader Tabor, which has a comfortable lead now in the standings.
The Bulldogs, though, could make them uncomfortable with what would have to be the KCAC’s biggest upset of the year.
Mac played Tabor tough in Hillsboro and has improved since then. The ‘Dogs and Bluejays tip off at 8 p.m. at the Sport Center, with the women playing at 6.
Both games will be broadcast on 96.7 KBBE-FM with Voice of the Bulldogs Matt Cole on the call.
The Bulldog men are 4-1 since the second half of the KCAC schedule began, the only loss by one point at Oklahoma Wesleyan.
Tabor, which ran the KCAC table last year at 20-0, has a three-game lead. Mac is 5-11 in the KCAC and fighting for its playoff life. The Bulldogs are 11-13 overall.
Mac’s women also are fighting for their playoff existence. They have fallen to 7-9 in the KCAC and in eighth place. The Top 8 advance. The Bulldogs are .500 overall at 12-12.
Tabor, the defending KCAC champion, is probably going to be dethroned as it’s 13-3, three games back of Friends, which shows no signs of slippage as it’s undefeated in KCAC play.
This is a tough week for the Mac teams as they also play Saturday at Friends.
