Hurry out and get your fishing license! The waters of McPherson Have just been stocked with health delicious trout. The McPherson Public Lands and Facilities Department loosed 250 pounds rainbow and brown trout into the stream. The fish can only survive under certain weather conditions, if the water gets too hot the fish won’t survive. The stream runs from lakeside park to wall park and the city hopes it becomes prime fishing territory with help from the state. The goal is to create access to fishing for families and communities that would otherwise not have access to fishing. There are plans to stock the stream once more this season, sometime before march. Anglers be aware, the state limits no more than 5 fish per day. Wayne Burns from Public Lands and Facilities encourages everyone to go out and have a good time, respect the fish and respect the area.
