DALLAS — What a way to open the season.
A second sweep in as many days has the McPherson College baseball team off to a 4-0 start.
On Saturday, the Bulldogs defeated Dallas Christian 13-6 in the opener. Matthew Green picked up the win for the Bulldogs, with offensive support from Trevor Haycock, Dylan Fontenot, Reily Martin and Bryce Strecker as they all collected multiple hits.
Haycock had three to lead the way and Lane Fleming drove in three.
In Game 2, the Bulldogs were all over Eccelesia College, 12-4. Blake Ware went five scoreless innings to win before turning it over to the bullpen. Fleming, Trent Smith and Evan Willow all had two hits.
“Creating early leads really helped us relax and play Bulldog baseball," first-year Mac coach Bryan Moses said. "I am proud of our guys for beginning the season on such a positive note. They deserve to be excited, but must also stay focused on the road ahead."
The Bulldogs are scheduled to make their home opener, weather permitting, on Saturday when William Penn comes to town. Game time is noon.
