McPherson High’s girls remain No. 3 in Class 4A Division I, while Kansas City Piper and Miege continue to play hot potato with the top spot.

Piper moved back into No. 1 when the rankings were released late Monday, with Miege dropping to No. 2 and the Bullpups No. 3.

Circle and Rose Hill complete the Top 5. MHS and Circle still have to play for a second time this season.

Paola is No. 6, followed by Baldwin, Labette County, Washington and Independence.

The MHS boys, idle last week, moved up a spot to No. 7.

Miege remains No. 1, followed by Eudora, Kansas City Piper, Ottawa, Wamego and Basehor-Linwood. Hays, Abilene and Buhler are below MHS. Hays and Buhler will be in the Bullpups’ sub-state.

Hesston’s boys, who avenged a loss to Smoky Valley on Friday, are still No. 1 in Class 3A and the Swather girls reappeared at No. 10. Hugoton is the top team.

Moundridge’s girls moved up one spot in Class 2A this week to No. 7
