POINT LOOKOUT, Mo. — All good things must come to an end.
Central Christian College’s men’s basketball team had gone 7 weeks without a loss, but its 12-game winning streak finally was halted on Saturday in overtime as College of the Ozarks outlasted CCC 76-74 in a matchup of old MCAC rivals.
It’s a game the Tigers feel like they let get away as they were up by 4 with 1:21 remaining in the game.
And the Tigers still were up by two with a second left to play after a Kendric Warren basket gave them an apparent amazing victory.
But Warren was called for a foul on the inbounds play and Cameron Paschke made the two free throws to send the game into OT.
Central trailed by as many as 6 in the OT, but battled back, but after getting the game tied, Pashhke hit two free throws with 22 seconds left for the winning points.
Michael Gholston led the Tigers with 24 points. Ernest Burton (14), Warren (10) and Sam Clayborn (10) also were in double figures.
CCC is now 20-6 and goes to Grace on Tuesday.
CCC (74) — Gholston 24, Burton 14, Warren 10, Clayborn 10, Nwosuh 8, Osagie 6, Kuminga 2.
Ozarks (76) — Davidson 10, Starbird 17, Paschke 27, Carmichael 5, Hall 2, Hyler 6, Smith 2, Burland 7.
• ROGERS STATE WOMEN 71, CENTRAL 47 — The Tiger women played an exhibition game on Saturday in Claremore, Okla.
Since Rogers State is an NCAA Division II school, the loss doesn’t count on CCC’s record.
Kelsey Grimaldo and Abbie Banks did most of the scoring for CCC with 19 and 18 points, respectively.
The women make yet another long road trip on Tuesday as they join the men in Nebraska to take on Grace Univeristy.

Rogers State (71) — Kindred 10, Bueno 2, Carr 9, Smith 6, Roberts 8, Nedoroscikova 5, Bohannan 3, Byfield 11, McIntosh 3, Jackson 8, Dermin 6.
